The Health & Social Care L4 NVQ award is specifically designed for people who are in a supervisory or management role. It covers managerial duties in addition to the assessment planning and review of individual care needs


Prerequisites:
You will have management or supervisory responsibility for other staff in developing individual responses to the assessed needs of others.
 
Course Description
Assessment will be related to your job or a situation with which you are familiar. This means you will be assessed in the workplace performing real work activities. In some cases, observation may not prove to be appropriate and so you may be asked to gather documents and other work products, or witness testimony which together provide evidence of the activities you have been involved in.
What does this Qualification cover?
The Health & Social Care award requires you to complete eight units.
 
Course Contents
There are 4 core units which must be addressed

• use and develop methods and systems to communicate, record and report
• contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the working environment
• Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others

You choose the fourth unit based on your chosen career path

• develop practice which promotes the involvement, well being and protection of children and young people (children & young people)
Or
• develop practices which promote choice, well being and the protection of all individuals (adults)

Plus, a further 4 units from a choice of 46, this range of options encompassing the wide range of work roles across the health and social care sector
