Duration: Time scale No time scale, though most programmes are completed in less than 12 months. Individual units may be accumulated up to 3 years for the full NVQ.

The Level 3 Advice and Guidance NVQ award is primarily for people who work directly with clients, disseminating information, advice and some level of guidance. They will be working with information that is often interpreted by others, and working within some clear guidelines.

This award is designed to improve organisational performance through its strong focus on the individual's job role. Development of the individual comes from highly practical programmes that can generate significant payback for the sponsor from cost savings and quality improvements.
Taking advantage of flexible programme design can reduce time away from the workplace. We can combine resource-based learning with taught workshops. Existing internal short training sessions may also be suitable for incorporating into the programme structure.
 
Course Description
What does the Advice & Guidance NVQ cover?

The core units are:
• Establish communication with clients for advice and guidance
• Support clients to make use of the service
• Review own contribution to the service
Candidates must also complete three from the following units:
• Develop interactions with advice and guidance clients
• Interact with clients using a range of media
• Assist advice and guidance clients to decide on a course of action
• Prepare clients through advice and guidance to decide on a course of action
• Assist clients through advice and guidance to review their achievement of a course of action.
• Negotiate on behalf of advice and guidance clients
• Liaise with other services
• Enable advice and guidance clients to access referral opportunities
• Provide and maintain information materials for use in the service
• Facilitate learning in groups
• Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Ensure your actions contribute to a positive and safe working environment
• Enable learning through demonstrations and instruction
