Duration: How much time will it take? A level three award usually takes between 6 to 9 months. The assessor would visit each candidate in the workplace once every three weeks and this observation and discussion would last about one hour. Additional time needs to be spent writing the knowledge report and collecting evidence, delivery notes, damage reports etc. This should not take more than one hour per week.

The purpose of the warehousing award is to provide a framework for ensuring that quality standards and systems are implemented and maintained. Staff can use it to develop their own skills and provide the organisation and customers with a ‘first rate’ service.
This qualification aims to enhance and improve the performance of warehousing specialists within the workplace. They offer individuals the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification by demonstrating competence in the workplace.
 
 
Course Contents
Candidates must complete eight units.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
• Contribute to keeping the workplace secure
• Work effectively in own organisation
• Receive goods and materials into storage
• Maintain the quality of goods in storage
• Assemble bulk orders for distribution and dispatch goods and materials
• Pick stock and make up orders
• Process orders for goods
• Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
• A choice of ten further specialist warehousing topics
Outcomes
• The standards can be used as a benchmark for evaluating warehousing operations company wide
• Identification of the need for:
• policies and procedures
• performance evaluations
• increases staff motivation
• improves companies image and profitability
